Houston Saengerbund Christmas Concert

First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1311 Holman, Houston

Ross plays an Alphorn solo opening this first class Christmas concert of Houston area citizens who love German heritage, or have German heritage in their background. Admission is free, but the admission tickets are all spoken for. This from the Houston Saengerbund Website: "On Tuesday, December 10 at 7:30 pm in the Nave of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1311 Holman, Houston, 77004 the Houston Saengerbund Maennerchor and Damenchor will be brought together by a distant Alphorn. The Saengerbund will present a glorious Weihnachtskonzert featuring Kresley Figueroa as the soprano soloist for the Laudate Dominum from Mozart's Solemn Vespers. Look forward to more solos during the concert by Isabel Signoret and Nathan Kessel. The men will perform German favorites like Tochter Zion and Es ist ein Ros' entsprungen. The women will perform a beautiful medley of "snow tunes" - from the quiet Leise rieselt der Schnee, to the Schneewalzer and last, to the bright 1926 Sleigh a la Russe. The Christmas Nightingale has the most poignant words: the English translation tells the sweet Nightingale to fly to the manger and sing a joyful song to the child Jesus. A reception will follow the concert and all are invited. The Weihnachtskonzert will be performed in German and English. This event is presented without charge, but because of the overwhelming popularity of this event in previous years, reservations are recommended as seating is limited (click here to reserve your seats)." Admission is free, but you must make a reservation.
